Garden maintenance

General garden maintenance is a year-round job for us and includes aspects of all of our services. Whether pruning, cutting hedges, training plants or turning compost heaps there is always something to do in the garden.

We consider ourselves professional weeders with years of experience tackling weeds of every kind armed with hand forks and hoes and not a chemical insight. We pride ourselves on helping you keeping your garden looking beautiful all year round, this could be edging borders, creating new beds, deadheading flowers or tackling overgrown corners of the garden.

We can also offer sound advice on saving your own seed, digging up/storing and dividing bulbs and tubers. This valuable knowledge can help you keep your garden looking fresh and stop your perennial plants from losing their vigour. We can also help restore tired borders and beds through intensive weeding, dividing of large plants, pruning and removal of plants.

Mulching is another aspect we feel is highly valuable in all gardens whether flower beds or the vegetable plot. Regular additions of mulch helps your soil retain moisture in the big weather leading to less watering.

This addition of organic matter aids aeration in the soil allowing roots and worms to move freely allowing your plants to reach their potential. Mulching also suppresses weeds and allows you to focus on enjoying your garden rather than spending time constantly weeding.
